Firstly, I'd like to take a moment to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Thank you! |

As something to keep me busy over the Xmas break from my course, I've started a little experiment with an idea I've had rattling around for a little while. I've always loved point-and-click adventure games, and wanted to be a part of designing one. On and off over the last year, I've had the idea to design something like one of these as a project to extend my design skills and have something nice to show off. My lack of coding ability (and struggle to learn it) has been a real hindrance in my indie project development, but after being introduced to and making a few small experiments in Twine, and now moving onto Construct-2 (Which I'm loving using!) it makes it an achievable goal. An adventure game would potentially be a huge project, too big for me right now! So this project will be very small scale and simplistic, the idea behind it was "A day in my life", and I'll see how it goes from there! I've made a very limited playable prototype using Construct2 to test this concept out. This is still a work in progress! As of the Sunday during the jam weekend, the team have decided we're going to put our game on the back burner and spend a little more time making the game.
We've all just finished a period of crunch, so we're pretty burnt out! Further updates to come! This weekend I'll be taking part in the Ludum Dare game jam with some colleagues!
This jam's theme is "You Only Get One" http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/12/13/we-taking-on-the-jam/ It's a little cramped, but we think we're good to go for the weekend! http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/12/14/cramming-for-the-jam-2/ |
